Plantation Drive under Mission LIFE

The NSS Units of Government Degree College Kangan organised a plantation drive on 19 May 2026 in line with the nationwide “Mission LIFE” initiative aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable living practices. The programme was conducted on and around the college campus with enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, Programme Officers, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff members, and students.



The NSS Units of Government Degree College Kangan organized a plantation drive on 19 May 2026 in line with the nationwide “Mission LIFE” initiative aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable living practices. The programme was conducted on and around the college campus with enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, Programme Officers, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff members, and students. During the drive, nearly 60 trees and ornamental saplings were planted to enhance the green cover and beautify the campus environment. The species planted during the programme included Pinus wallichiana, petunia, dog flower, gazania, and other ornamental and eco-friendly plants. The activity highlighted the importance of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and collective responsibility towards nature. The NSS volunteers actively participated in digging pits, planting saplings, watering plants, and cleaning the surrounding areas. The Programme Officers appreciated the dedication and teamwork displayed by the volunteers and emphasized the need for regular care and maintenance of the planted saplings to ensure their healthy growth.
