The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under the POSH Act (2013) of Government Degree College (GDC) Kangan on May 4 2026organised a workshop on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) and awareness about the SHE-Box platform” on campus. The primary objective of the workshop was to sensitise students about their rights, promote a safe academic environment, and familiarise them with the digital mechanism available for reporting grievances related to sexual harassment. The session focused on the effective use of the SHE-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box), an online platform designed to enable individuals to lodge complaints conveniently and securely. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Aatina Malik, Nodal Officer for SHE-Box, who played a pivotal role in guiding the students through the platform. Dr. Malik provided a detailed, step-by-step demonstration of how to access and use the SHE-Box portal. She explained the process of registering a complaint, uploading relevant details, and tracking the status of submissions. The session emphasized clarity, accessibility, and ease of use, ensuring that students felt confident navigating the platform independently if the need arises. Students actively participated in the workshop and engaged in discussions regarding safety, confidentiality, and institutional support systems. The interactive nature of the session helped address queries and dispel doubts related to reporting mechanisms. The workshop proved to be highly informative and empowering, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful campus environment.
