An awareness programme on Mission Yuva under the initiative Udyam Jagrati was successfully organized on 29 April 2026 at Government Degree College Kangan in collaboration with the District Employment Office Ganderbal. The programme aimed to sensitize students about self-employment opportunities, entrepreneurship development, and government-supported livelihood initiatives. The objectives of the programme were to create awareness among students regarding Mission Yuva initiatives and encourage entrepreneurial thinking and self-reliance among youth. The programme witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and staff of the college. It commenced with a formal introduction highlighting the significance of youth empowerment and employment generation in the present socio-economic context. The highlight of the programme was a special lecture delivered by Counsellor Mrs. Saima Bhat from the District Employment Office Ganderbal. In her address, she elaborated on the objectives and framework of Mission Yuva. She informed about the various government schemes supporting startups and self-employment and also the registration procedures and benefits available through employment portals. Her lecture was highly informative and interactive, addressing students’ queries and motivating them to explore innovative career pathways beyond conventional employment.

Students actively engaged in the session, showing keen interest in understanding entrepreneurial opportunities. The interactive segment allowed participants to seek clarifications regarding financial assistance, training modules, and institutional support available under Mission Yuva. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Nodal Officer Dr. Jahangeer Gulzar, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, collaborating department, faculty members, and students for their participation and cooperation in making the event successful.
