In pursuance of the directions issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the NSS Units in collaboration with the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell, Government Degree College (GDC) Kangan, organized a Slogan Writing Competition on 18 June 2026 to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among students. The programme aimed to encourage students to express their thoughts creatively and reinforce the message of drug prevention through impactful slogans. The competition witnessed the enthusiastic participation of almost 20 students, who presented original and thought-provoking slogans emphasizing the importance of staying away from drugs, making healthy life choices, and contributing towards building a substance-free society. The slogans were judged by Dr. Aatina Nasir Malik and Dr. Jahangeer Gulzar, nodal officers NMBA, and Mehreena Mushtaq and Wajid Ali Tendaof semester first were declared 1^st and 2^ndrespectively. The event provided a meaningful platform for students to showcase their creativity while sensitizing them to the social and health consequences of substance abuse. The entries reflected the participants’ awareness and commitment towards the objectives of the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme concluded with words of appreciation for all the participants, and the organizers reaffirmed their commitment to conducting similar awareness activities in the future to promote a healthy and responsible campus environment.
