Painting Competition under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Government Degree College Kangan on 18 May 2026 organized a Painting Competition under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society. The event was conducted in the college premises with active participation from students belonging to different semesters. The theme of the competition was “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”, encouraging participants to express their ideas and concerns through art and creativity. A total of eight students participated in the competition and presented meaningful and thought-provoking paintings highlighting the importance of staying away from drugs and other harmful substances. The participants displayed remarkable creativity and social awareness through their artwork. Some paintings depicted the devastating impact of drug addiction on youth, families, and society, portraying themes such as broken relationships, loss of health, and destruction of dreams caused by substance abuse. Other students focused on positive messages of hope, recovery, and awareness by illustrating healthy lifestyles, education, sports, and community support as pathways towards a drug-free nation. Several artworks also symbolically represented the fight against addiction through powerful imagery such as broken chains, extinguished syringes, dark versus bright life contrasts, and young students choosing education and success over substance abuse. The event successfully spread awareness regarding the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and encouraged students to become ambassadors of a drug-free society. After careful evaluation of the paintings, the following students secured positions in the competition:

  • First Position: Rehana Tabassum, Semester IV
  • Second Position: Shabnam Bano, Semester IV
  • Third Position: Towseef and Burhan, Semester VI

The college appreciated the efforts and creativity of all participants and reiterated its commitment towards promoting awareness campaigns and student engagement activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
